I have some computers in my small apartment.
- Eldalótë, iMac Core 2 Duo 24″ Mid 2007 model. My main computer, which has largely replaced Tinúviel. Named for the wife of Angrod in Silmarillion, her name means elven flower. Runs Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard.
- Tinúviel, iBook G4, Late 2004 model. Somewhat broken. This used to my laptop, that I used to use for everything, now retired in favor of younger talents. Named for Lúthien in Silmarillion. She has a 1,2 GHz PowerPC G4, 768 MB of RAM, 80 GB of hard drive (which is way too small), Airport Extreme and Bluetooth. She runs Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard.
- Gandalf, DIY PC with an old Athlon with a Barton core. Named for Gandalf from (among other things) the Lord of the Rings. He runs Debian Linux, and hosts this blog, and other things. He also shares files to my other computers via AFP and SSH.
- Bombadil, PowerMac G4 AGP Sawtooth with a 450 MHz PowerPC G4. Named for Tom Bombadil. Is currently a powered-off server.
